Climate Clues

September 29, 2010

Geologist Professor Don J. Easterbrook makes a prediction for the world’s climate out to 2100

In his prediction, the next cool phase bottoms out around 2040 and the following warm phase tops out around 2080 with temperatures higher than currently experienced.

A cold climate would have a severe impact on the worlds ability to grow crops and feed itself with some areas hit harder than others. In Revelation 6:8 we have this prediction:

8And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

A hot climate would result in scorching temperatures. In Revelation 8:7 we have this prediction:

7The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.

The conditions in the first biblical prediction are experienced by man-kind in general no matter what his or her affiliation i.e. normal climate. In the intervening time between the two biblical predictions the Christian church is taken out of the Earth and the conditions of the second prediction will be experienced by those remaining and especially by those who have taken the mark of the beast

The Fourth Part of the Earth

September 13, 2010

The fourth seal prophecy of Revelation 6: 7,8 states:

“7And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see.

8And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.”

This begs the question – where is the fourth part of the earth?

The answer may come from history. Consider this quote from A.D. 1507 by cartographer Martin Waldseemüller:

The earth is now known to be divided into four parts. The fourth part is an island because it has been found to be completely surrounded on all of its sides by sea. Just as there is only earth, there is only one Ocean, yet it is made up of many different seas… ”

The following is a description of the island by a reviewer of the same cartographers map:

“There’s not much labeled on these lands. The northern continent has two large islands off to the south, called Isabella Insula (Isabella’s Island) and Spagnolla Insula (Spain’s Island), while the southern continent has a description saying it was discovered under the mandate of the King of Castile. Down in the bottom right block, where the end of the land drops tantalizingly into the edge of the map, the name America. ”

These quotes are from a review of the book “The Naming of America” by John W. Hessler. The review by Elinor Teele can be accessed here:

So, is the “fourth part of the earth”,  North and South America?

The Beginning of Sorrows

January 16, 2010

In his Olivet discourse (a dual prophecy describing end-times and the destruction of Jerusalem 70 AD), Jesus made this prophecy:

Matthew 24

6And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

7For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

8All these are the beginning of sorrows.

There have been two World Wars that satisfy “nation rising against nation” and plenty of famines, pestilences and earthquakes, Haiti just being the most recent, so are we ready to move on to verse 9? No, first we must check-in to a parallel prophecy in the Revelation of John that details a sequence of events ushered in by the opening of seals of a book – the Apocalypse. The relevant seals here are 2 and 4:

Revelation 6

4And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.

8And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

Rev 6:4 corresponds with Matt 24:6,7 in regard to wars and Rev 6:8 corresponds to Matt 24:7 in regard to famines, pestilences and earthquakes.

Depending on the interpretation of Rev 6:8 “power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill”, either A) 1/4 of the earths population will die or B) an undefined fourth part of the earth will experience varying degrees of death as a result of the causes described. If the correct interpretation is A) then clearly this prophecy has not yet been fulfilled. If B) is correct then the prophecy could be in effect currently.

There is another seal prophecy which if interpreted literally sets a time marker; seal 3 sets this criterion:

Revelation 6:6

A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny

This means that for this prophecy to be fulfilled, wheat will cost 3 times more than barley on world markets. In November 2009 wheat was 1.36 times the cost of barley FOB Gulf of Mexico so conditions then did not match the time marker of seal 3 if that is what it is but in August 1996 wheat was 2.79 times the cost of barley. The freezing northern hemisphere weather could cause  wheat prices to spike in 2010 as they did in the food crisis of 2008 so the ratio could change drastically in the coming months. Bloomberg, on January 10 2010 reported wheat prices climbing to a five week high.

Adopting the position that condition A) has not been met and neither has the time marker we should not move on to the next prophecies but if the conditions have been met, what’s next?

Matthew 24:9

9Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake.

Revelation 6:9 and 11 (5th seal)

9And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:

11And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.

Revelation 13:7

7And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.

The second two verses and the “him” in Rev 13:7 refer specifically to the activities of the first beast of Rev 13; the totalitarian world government that will demand allegiance to a Luciferian (Satanic) regime. Obviously bible believing Christians will be dissenters – and will  suffer the consequences.
